About Regan BAKER, principal designer
Regan Baker leads Regan Baker Design with 17 years of experience in Interior Architecture and Design. She firmly believes that design should be comfortable, modern, and personal, and she strives to bring these aspects to every project she works on. After spending the first 7 years of her career at great firms such as Gettys and Michael Hsu Office of Architecture, she began to understand her unique style and skillset were applicable on a more intimate scale in residential design. As a fashion-forward and design-savvy mom, she knows that personal style and lifestyle function are equally important features in a home, and believes in creating spaces that are an extension of who you are as an individual or family.
When not designing, you can find Regan at the park or beach with her family and friends. After becoming a mother of twins over ten years ago, her life has taken on a new priority: to inspire her children to do what they love and go after a passion in life. Regan laughs often, becomes friends with all her clients, and has a goal in life to be a nice person.
Ali Stein, Director Of Operations & Project Manager
Ali joins the team as a business strategist and project manager to complement the design team's creativity. She understands that the interior design process is as much about organization and a client's delightful experience as it is about design. She brings over ten years of experience working in technology at Facebook and Google to Regan Baker Design. Inspired by the work of RBD on her own home in San Francisco, and by the friendship she developed with Regan, she grew excited about the idea of applying her extensive customer service, team building, program management, and marketing experience to an entirely different industry. At RBD she feels reconnected to days spent working at her Grandpa's hardware store growing up. In her spare time you can find Ali hanging out with her husband and two kids.
Amy McKenzie, Senior Designer
Amy has over 14 years of experience in the industry, spanning from the east coast to the west. She loves getting to know clients and their tastes, looking at all angles, and making their dream home a reality. Amy believes that beauty and function should always work in harmony and loves that magic moment when everything comes together. Before joining RBD, she was a designer at Fox-Nahem Associates in New York and at Marlies Venute Interiors in Washington D.C. When she isn't designing dream homes, Amy lives with her husband, Chris, and two beautiful children.
Eric Hardrath, Senior Designer
Eric joins RBD with over 12 years of experience in Interior Architecture. He started his career at a young age working for his family's residential carpentry and remodeling business in Milwaukee. He also gained experience in Hospitality and Retail design at Celek Interiors. With a love for things classic, vintage, and antique, Eric describes his style as a combination of classic and modern, with a nod to historical reference and craft. On the weekends you can find Eric cooking up a feast of secret food recipes including but not limited to homemade pizza! This of course comes after a long bike ride with family or friends.
Katherine Bragg, Senior Designer
Katherine received her BFA in Interior Design from Parsons School of Design and MFA in Furniture Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. She worked in New York as an interior designer at Roman and Williams and Groves and Co. She has also designed and developed products for Urban Outfitters Housewares division and Pottery Barn Kids. Most recently she worked for herself at her own design firm in San Francisco. When she’s not on the hunt for new inspiration, you can find her painting and developing cards for her greeting card company.
Mia Heiman, Senior Designer
Crystal Nelson, Project Manager
Crystal is a leader and organized taskmaster who has worked as a designer and project manager for retail, residential, and hospitality design projects with over 13 years of experience in interior design, architecture, and lighting design. She received her BA in Art Studio and History of Art & Architecture from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her Master of Architecture degree from NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego. Crystal was drawn to the arts at a young age and would always beg her parents for a project—whether it be drawing, painting, knitting, or building. When she’s not creatively solving problems, she’s spending time with her husband and daughter exploring the outdoors on foot, electric family bike, or Jeep.
Melissa Kiesel, Designer
Melissa joins RBD from DMARCstudio where she worked on a wide variety of residential, educational, and restaurant projects in her role as an architectural designer. Prior to that she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study Design at the Academy of Art in San Francisco. Born and raised in Burgthann, Germany she has traveled extensively and considers travel a vital part of growth as a designer. She derives her inspiration from nature and architecture, and appreciates a fine piece of furniture. On the weekends you can find Melissa climbing or exploring nature.
Lexy Perkins, Designer
After graduating Cum Laude with a BA in Design from Cal State–Long Beach, Lexy started her career as a Designer at Urban Chalet working on boutique medical and tech offices. With an itch to focus on residential design, Lexy brings her attention to detail and efficient work style to RBD. She's always loved the notion that designers get to create experiences by being the balance of artists and engineers. Artists develop work that is driven by aesthetic and emotion, while engineers develop final products that are driven purely by function; and as a designer she finds a way to marry the two to create spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and purposeful in their function. On the weekends you may find Lexy catching a local concert or playing in a co-ed soccer league!
Maddy Kealy, Designer
Maddy received her BS in Interior Architecture with a focus on Sustainability from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. When she wasn’t busy seeking out the best cheese curds, she interned with design firms in New York and Los Angeles before joining Regan Baker Design. She grew up in a family of artists, musicians, and other creative types, so she was naturally encouraged to express herself in the arts. She loves traveling and finds inspiration in visiting new cities, art museums, flea markets, and in nature. She credits her childhood love of playing The Sims and going to estate sales with her mom for sparking her interest in interiors.
Estefania Perez, Designer
Originally from Spain, Estefania moved to San Francisco two years ago to pursue the American Dream. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, she began working as an interior and furniture designer in Madrid, eventually leading an interior design department. Simultaneously, she worked toward earning a Master’s degree in both 3D Design and Industrial Design. Creative and inventive from a young age, she is a natural problem-solver, and takes pride in understanding every detail of a project so it comes together perfectly. Outside of the office, she loves traveling to new places, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying the Alameda “island life” with her husband.
Marta Pavone, Designer
Marta’s experience in hospitality design helps to communicate how design can be the visual hallmark of an asset. Her strength lies in crafting stories that communicate the client’s vision through all phases of a project. The ability to collaborate with vendors and artists on one-of-a kind pieces, all while being cost-conscious, has further deepened a love of storytelling through the use of color, textiles, and materiality.
Ann O'Reilly, Accounts Manager
Ann joined the RBD team as Regan's first hire in 2012. She takes care of the day-to-day accounting needs of the firm and keeps the team in line by collecting a receipt for every purchase made . . . ever! In her spare time, Ann loves to volunteer. Originally from Ireland, one of her main causes is working with the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center in San Francisco. She has also completed the Best Buddies Challenge three times, which supports the movement for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In 2015 she was able to watch her younger sister win the silver medal for Ireland at the Special Olympics.
Olivia Inman, Brand Design Manager
With a background in photography, prop styling, and graphic design, Olivia helps keep everything at RBD looking its best—from the Instagram feed to client materials. After studying Art History at the University of California–Los Angeles, she spent time working as a graphic designer in the publishing industry before moving to San Francisco to work as a photo stylist and photographer in 2012. On the weekends, you can find her toting her camera on bay area day trips, scouring estate sales for vintage finds, and forever trying to finish a roll of film.
