FALL Interior Design InternSHIP

August through December 2019

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organizing current sample library

  • Sourcing and picking up new products for library

  • Setting up new vendor accounts and updating addresses with old vendor accounts

  • CAD drafting - Assist with presentation materials for client deliverables

  • Assisting designers with sourcing images and preparations with client deliverables

  • General administrative/office duties: answer phone calls, data entry, filing and organizing magazines and client paperwork, and making returns

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD

  • Knowledge of Studio Webware is a plus

  • Shows strong initiative, innovation, and creative problem solving

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Highly organized with attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team, asking clarifying questions as necessary

  • Valid CA driver’s license & insurance with reliable vehicle is preferred

  • Delights in servicing clients and making people smile

Senior Designer / Architectural Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Developing overall design for projects

  • Developing design sketches, layouts and details based on initial sketches prepared by others

  • Reviewing construction documents

  • Reviewing engineering and other consultant drawings to ensure they comply with design intention

  • Leading design and implementation of custom furniture and millwork

  • Researching and selecting FF&E and FF&A for projects

  • Preparing client budgets and specifications for purchases as needed

  • Serving as prime interface with the client and consultants with regard to design issues and presentations

  • Leading quality control reviews for projects to confirm documents are meeting RBD Standards

  • Project managing as needed, such as task management and meeting minutes

  • Participating in on-site meetings with owner, consultants and contractors including installation, as necessary

  • Maintaining relationships with existing clients and nurturing potential clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of architecture or design school or equivalent experience

  • 8+ years of design or architecture experience in either contract, hospitality, architecture or residential design

  • Extensive knowledge of design principles, aesthetics, and space planning methodology and ability to independently drive a project from start to finish

  • Extensive knowledge of furnishings and finishes

  • Expert sketching and rendering skills

  • Expert interior architecture detailing skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Construction Documents and procedures

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of contract administration

  • Extensive knowledge of budget preparation and proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints

  • Familiarity with custom furniture and millwork design

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and InDesign

  • Familiarity in Sketch-Up and Studio Webware a plus

Intermediate DESIGNER / ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing overall design for projects under supervision

  • Developing design sketches, layouts and details based on initial sketches prepared by others

  • Drafting construction documents

  • Reviewing engineering and other consultant drawings under supervision to ensure they comply with design intention

  • Assisting design and implementation of custom furniture and millwork

  • Researching and selecting FF&E and FF&A for projects

  • Preparing client budgets and specifications for purchases as needed

  • Project managing as needed, such as task management and meeting minutes

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelors of architecture or design school or equivalent experience

  • 2-5 years of design or architecture experience in either contract, hospitality, architecture or residential design

  • Proficient knowledge of design principles, aesthetics, and space planning methodology and ability to independently drive a project from start to finish

  • Proficient knowledge of furnishings and finishes

  • Proficient sketching and rendering skills

  • Proficient interior architecture detailing skills

  • Working knowledge of Construction Documents and procedures

  • Working knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements

  • Working knowledge of contract administration

  • Working knowledge of budget preparation and proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints
